Eagle CallBack Door BUG Reports..........
Some XT systems locked up when using the ECCONFIG.EXE program and
the Door it self. Re-compiled the code under the 8088/8086
instruction set vice the 80286 ! Thanks New York and Texas !!
Some V42 modems experience what appears to be remote keyboard
lockup. Add &A1 &K0 to your modem dialing strings to correct this
problem. This seems to only happen to V42 modems used on the BBS
and when connecting to another V42 modem. Thanks Doug Haire for the
"troubleshooting" and finding the "fix" ! The door has been coded
to correct this problem, however should you experience this problem
use the above commands to fix it.
Some phone lines take longer than others to "recycle". The door may
appear to not be working correctly. As long as another user isn't
knocking your "BBS door down" to get in, the second try at calling
out, should take care of this "recycle" problem. Please take into
consideration that alot of "things" must take place at the "right"
time in order for the door to work properly. Line noise, other
users trying to "get in", phone line recycle too slow, or users who
are not reading and following the prompts and on-line instructions
for the door will all cause the door to "appear" to not be working
correctly. PATIENTS is the KEY !!!
If you start to have problems with the "search" function on the
PREFIX.FON file, whereas a phone number is in fact in the
PREFIX.FON but the door fails to "find" it and the door doesn't
note it. You might have an EOF (End Of File) marker in the wrong
place. Use an EDITOR that does not leave an EOF at the end of the
file, such as Qedit or QuickDOSII editor. The EOF will look like a
small arrow pointing to the right, or like this => ^Z You must
remove this, or the door will not function properly. Better yet,
don't touch the PREFIX.FON file except to "look" at it.
